{"id":245844,"date":"2026-04-24T20:41:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T20:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsworldghana.com\/?p=245844"},"modified":"2026-04-24T20:41:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T20:41:00","slug":"major-highlights-from-carlos-queirozs-unveiling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/learn.oshtree.org\/b-class\/2026\/04\/24\/major-highlights-from-carlos-queirozs-unveiling\/","title":{"rendered":"Major highlights from Carlos\u00a0Queiroz&#8217;s unveiling"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Portuguese manager Carlos Queiroz was officially unveiled as the new Black Stars coach in Accra on Thursday, April 23, at the Alisa Hotel by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 73-year-old has been handed a four-month contract ahead of the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Queiroz replaced Otto Addo, who was sacked in March after Black Stars&#8217; back-to-back defeats against Austria and Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The former Real Madrid coach has been tasked with improving the team and making an impact ahead of the 23rd edition of the global showpiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are 10 key things he said during his unveiling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. I am ready for the job as Black Stars head coach<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. This will be the most challenging job in my career<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. I am a winning coach who is not concerned about the style of play<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. I want to see my players fight as a team without the ball and adapt with the ball<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5. My challenge is to win the next game and win the next game<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. We have to bring in the right players and make the right decisions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7. I cannot make promises, but I can assure you that we will be ready against Panama<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8. We will create fair opportunities for local players<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">9. I will select players who are capable, experienced and fit<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10.
