City interest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chelsea are reportedly not prepared to sell Josh Acheampong this summer despite having plans to sign a new defender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Blues have faced interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Crystal Palace in Acheampong in recent times, and that\u2019s expected to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, it seems Chelsea have made the decision that they want to keep the 19-year-old at Stamford Bridge, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/sport\/football\/2191687\/Chelsea-transfer-news-Josh-Acheampong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acheampong has shown himself to be a hugely promising young player, but it would also be fair to say he hasn\u2019t been given a lot of playing time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One imagines the England Under-21 international might at some point be tempted to consider moving on, but for now it looks like that\u2019s off the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can Josh Acheampong make the breakthrough at Chelsea?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acheampong is still young and learning the game, but he\u2019s perhaps already shown he\u2019s good enough to be playing more often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The teenager has just 39 first-team appearances for Chelsea in total, playing only 12 times in the Premier League so far this term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chelsea are also eyeing up Jacobo Ramon as a target in defence this summer, so it could continue to be tricky for Acheampong to get opportunities at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be interesting to see if CFC continue to insist on keeping him, and if so, if it leads to Liam Rosenior giving him more minutes, or else he\u2019ll surely push for a move sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chelsea are reportedly not prepared to sell Josh Acheampong this summer despite having plans to sign a new defender.
