{"id":246978,"date":"2026-04-12T18:43:46","date_gmt":"2026-04-12T18:43:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsworldghana.com\/?p=246978"},"modified":"2026-04-12T18:43:46","modified_gmt":"2026-04-12T18:43:46","slug":"amanda-clinton-backs-fernando-santos-for-black-stars-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/learn.oshtree.org\/b-class\/2026\/04\/12\/amanda-clinton-backs-fernando-santos-for-black-stars-job\/","title":{"rendered":"Amanda Clinton backs Fernando Santos for Black Stars job"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former Ghana Football Association presidential aspirant Amanda Clinton has thrown her support behind Fernando Santos as her preferred candidate for the Black Stars head coach position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking in an interview with Citi Sports, Clinton praised the experienced Portuguese tactician as the ideal choice to lead Ghana\u2019s senior national team following the departure of Otto Addo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Santos is among a number of Portuguese coaches reportedly shortlisted for the role, with Sports Minister Kofi Adams indicating that an appointment is expected by Monday, April 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clinton believes Santos\u2019 track record at both club and international level makes him the best fit to guide the Black Stars back to success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Black Stars will do very well if we get a good coach like Santos, who led Portugal to great success.
